Warsaw, the monument to Chopin at the Łazienki Park

When you ask where Frederic Chopin or Madam Curie were from, many people in the world will answer: from France. However, true admirers of their talent should not have doubts. Both were born in Poland, what’s more, in the same center, in the region of Mazowsze, Warsaw, or its immediate vicinity.

In the Frederic’s music one can easily notice elements of Polish countryside folklore, and Maria’s commitment to her homeland can be clearly seen in the name of the first radioactive element, discovered by her and her husband, Peter Curie - polonium.

"(...) Chopin Frederick – exceptional abilities, a musical genius" Joseph Elsner – a lecturer at the Warsaw Conservatory.
